EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKING
MODELS AFFECTED: 1982 SKYHAWKS EQUIPPED WITH 1.8L (VIN CODE G) ENGINES
Some 1982 1.8L (VIN CODE G) L4 engines may incur cracked exhaust manifolds when subjected to high temperature and high load conditions. A new
exhaust manifold assembly has been released and is available under the current part number (14018756).
Replacement of the exhaust manifold assembly requires a change in the outer bolt (#1 and #4 runners) torque specification. These bolts should be
torqued to 15-20 N-m (11-15 ft.lbs.).
