New Transaxle Service Mount
MODELS AFFECTED:
1982 Skyhawks With Automatic Transmissions
& 1.8L L4 Engines, VIN Code "G"
Some 1982 Skyhawks with automatic transmissions may exhibit dash or steering wheel shake at idle.
Vehicles exhibiting idle shake can be improved by the installation of a new transaxle mount, P/N 14067053. (See Note At End Of Bulletin.)
The installation procedures contained in this bulletin must be followed to achieve optimum performance of the new mount.
TRANSAXLE MOUNT REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect negative battery cable.

2.
Using a M6 x 1 x 65 bolt, insert bolt in hole at front R.H. engine mount to prevent mount mislocation during transaxle mount removal (Figure 1).
3.
Install engine support fixture (refer to page 7A-11 of the 1982 Skyhawk Shop Manual). Apply a preload on lift hook so that engine will not drop
down upon mount bolt removal.
4.
Raise vehicle and remove L.H. horn assembly.

Remove lower three (3) bracket to transaxle mount bolts (Figure 2).
