1992-94 2.3L (VINs A and D - RPOs LGO and LD2) GM Goodwrench engines will replace the 1987-93 2.3L (VINs A and D - RPOs LGO and LD2)
Service Replacement Engine Assemblies as service inventory is exhausted.
2.3L partial engines are no longer available. Use the GM Goodwrench engine to service engines previously serviced with a partial engine.
An ECM Calibration Kit is required when replacing 1987-89 2.3L (VIN D) engines with a 1992-94 GM Goodwrench engine. This kit contains a new
EPROM (MEM-CAL), a crankcase vent hose connector, instruction sheet, ECM PROM (MEM-CAL) access door label and two (2) 10 mm exhaust
manifold retaining nuts that are required to adapt the 1992-94 engine to the 1987-89 applications.
For any future EPROM (MEM-CAL) replacement, be sure that the replacement EPROM (MEM-CAL) is the correct application for the Goodwrench
Engine Assembly.
PARTS INFORMATION:
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
An ECM Calibration Kit is required for 1992-94 GM Goodwrench engines when used in 1987-89 applications. ECM Calibration kits are not required for
1989 2.3L (VIN A) or any 1990-94 applications.
