Thermostat: Service and Repair
Thermostat
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling to level below thermostat.
3. Disconnect radiator hose and heater hose from thermostat housing.
4. Disconnect electrical connector from coolant sensor.
5. Remove throttle body cooling hose.
6. Remove thermostat housing attaching bolts, then remove thermostat housing and thermostat.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Thermostat.
2. Thermostat housing and gasket.

Tighten bolts to 26 Nm (19 lbs. ft.).
3. Heater and throttle body hoses.
4. Coolant sensor electrical connector.
5. Upper radiator hose.
6. Fill and pressure test cooling system. Refer to Filling. See: Service and Repair
