Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair
With A/C
A/C Comp., Tensioner Bracket Asm. (w/o A/C) & Idler
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable
2. Serpentine drive belt
CAUTION: To avoid personal injury when rotating the serpentine belt tensioner, use a tight fitting 13 mm wrench that is at least 61 cm
(24") long.
This operation can be done using available tool J 37059 (or equivalent).
3. Generator assembly.
4. Oil filter.
5. Rear compressor bracket.
6. Raise vehicle.
7. Right splash shield
8. Front compressor mounting bolts and position compressor aside.
9. Chain housing to belt tensioner bracket brace (Items 147, 149 and 150).
10. Five (5) bracket to block retaining bolts.
11. Bracket out the wheel opening.
Install or Connect
1. Bracket and retaining bolts hand tight.
2. Tighten bolts to specifications.

Tighten bolts at location "A" (illustration) first.
3. Chain housing to belt tensioner bracket brace (Items 147, 149 and 150).
