Backing Plate: Service and Repair
Raise vehicle and suitably support.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Brake drum, brake shoes and brake hardware.
2. Inlet tube.
3. Bolts from wheel cylinder.
4. Parking brake cable from backing plate.
5. Hub and bearing assembly bolts.
6. Backing plate.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Bolts to wheel cylinder. Tighten Wheel cylinder bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
2. Backing plate to axle assembly.
