Engine Mount: Recalls
Technical Procedure
1.
Raise vehicle.
2.
Inspect clearance between engine mount bracket and engine oil filter. Refer to illustration.
a.
Vehicles with 3 mm (1/8") minimum clearance require no further work. Lower vehicle and install campaign identification label, Step 9 of
procedure.
b.
Vehicles with less than 3 mm (1/8") clearance require rework, proceed to Step 3 of procedure.
OIL FILTER
3.
Remove oil filter. Protect oil filter opening in engine case from metal filings and dirt.
4.
Using a grinding wheel, grind off end of engine mount bracket to provide a (minimum) clearance of 3 mm (1/8") to oil filter. Refer to
illustration.
5.
Remove protection from oil filter housing.
6.
Reinstall oil filter. If original filter was damaged, install new filter.
7.
Lower vehicle.
8.
Start engine and allow to run approximately 10 seconds to fill oil filter. Shut off engine. Raise hood, check oil level and fill as necessary.
9.
Install campaign identification label and close hood.
CAMPAIGN IDENTIFICATION LABEL
Each vehicle modified in accordance with the instructions outlined in this Service Procedure will require a Campaign Identification label. Each label
provides a space to include the campaign number, the five (5) digit dealer code of the dealer performing the campaign service, and the date vehicle was
campaigned. This information may be inserted with a typewriter or ballpoint pen. When installing label, clean the surface of the radiator fan shroud and
apply the campaign label where it is readily visible.
