DECELERATION VALVE STUCK CLOSED

MODELS AFFECTED: 1984 SKYLARKS EQUIPPED WITH 2.8L V-6 ENGINES (VIN CODES X AND Z)

General Motors has determined that certain 1984 Buick Skylarks equipped with 2.8L V6 engine and Federal or California emission systems may be
emitting pollutants in excess of Federal and/or California emission standards.

The cause has been identified as a sticking deceleration valve which may not open, resulting in possible failure to meet HC emissions.
