MODELS AFFECTED:
SOME 1982 THRU 1985 SKYLARKS EQUIPPED WITH 2.8L ENGINE (VIN CODES X OR Z)
Some 1982-1985 Skylarks equipped with a 2.8L engine (VIN Codes X or Z), may exhibit a choke relay "buzz" condition when the ignition key is turned
"off" and the A/C and heater controller is in the "off" position (no blower operation). This condition has been thoroughly investigated and found to be
the relay rather than the generator.
This "buzz" condition can be eliminated by replacing the old relay, P/N 14039662, with a new relay, P/N 14089568, which has a diode in series with the
relay coil.
