Choke Light Staying On Too Long
MODELS AFFECTED:
1982 Skyhawks (All) - Skylarks Equipped With 2.8L Engine (LE2) With Gage Option
Conditions may arise where the choke light stays on for some period of time after the engine is started on the above models.
Other than the causes indicated in the Service Manuals for the choke light staying on, this condition can be the result of a choke heater relay that has too
low of drop-out voltage causing the relay to stay energized and the light to stay on. Replacement of the relay with the service part will correct the
condition.
