Condition
Some owners may comment on a vehicle "no start" condition, or the generator may not be charging the battery.
Cause
Condition may be due to a poor connection at the generator where the Red # 1 circuit wire attaches to the BATT terminal stud of the generator. The
rubber sleeve on the ring terminal wire may be pinched between the terminal and the nut.
Correction
Verify that the generator has failed. Refer to page 6D3-2 in the Service Manual for charging system diagnosis. Replace the damaged generator and check
the ring terminal/wire for damage. Refer to page 6D3-3 in the Service Manual for Generator Replacement information. Replace the damaged ring
terminal sleeve and wire and reinstall to the generator. Refer to page 8A-5-4 in the Service Manual for wiring repair information.
