Compressor Clutch: Service and Repair
Installation

1.

Place pulley rotor on support block J-21352-A or equivalent. Do not support rotor by resting pulley rim on flat surface, or rotor face will be bent
during bearing installation.

2.

Align new bearing squarely with hub bore and drive bearing into hub by applying force to outer race of bearing with installer J-9481 and handle
J-8092.

3.

Stake bearing in 3 places 120° apart, being careful to shift support block to give full support under area of hub being staked. Stake should be
formed down to but not touching bearing to avoid distorting outer race.

4.

With compressor mounted vertically, position rotor and bearing assembly on front head.

5.

Position J-33017 installer and J-33023 pilot over inner race of bearing.

6.

Set puller crossbar T-8433-1 or equivalent on puller pilot J-33023. Assemble 2 through bolts and washers J-33026-2 through puller bar slots and
thread into holding fixture J-33026 so full thickness of holding fixture is engaged.

7.

Tighten center screw of puller crossbar to force pulley rotor and bearing assembly onto compressor front head, ensuring installer maintains direct
in-line contact with inner race of bearing.

8.

Install rotor and bearing assembly retainer ring.

9.

Reinstall clutch plate and hub assembly.
