Brake Pad: Service and Repair
Removal
With Spring Mount
CAUTION: It is not necessary to disconnect the brake hose, however, use caution not to twist or kink hose.
Removing Outboard Spring And Lining
1.
Remove shoe and lining assemblies from caliper.
2.
To remove outboard shoe and lining use screwdriver to disengage buttons on shoe from holes in caliper.
3.
Remove sleeves from mounting bolt holes.
4.
Remove bushings from grooves in mounting bolt holes.
5.
Position piston to bottom of bore.
With Tab Mount
CAUTION: It is not necessary to disconnect the brake hose, however, use caution not to twist or kink hose.
Shoe And Lining Assembly
1.
Remove shoe and lining assemblies from caliper.
2.
To remove outboard shoe and lining use 12-inch adjustable pliers to straighten bent over shoe tabs.
3.
Remove sleeves from mounting bolt holes.
4.
Remove bushings from grooves in mounting bolt holes.
5.
Position piston to bottom of bore.
