1.
Remove engine from vehicle as described under ``Engine, Replace.''
2.
Remove rocker arm cover, pushrods, pushrod cover and valve lifters.
3.
Remove distributor, then the oil pump driveshaft.
4.
Remove front cover as described under ``Engine Front Cover, Replace.''
5.
Remove camshaft thrust plate screws, then slide camshaft and gear out through front of block. Use care not to damage camshaft bearings.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. When installing camshaft, align crankshaft and camshaft valve timing marks on gear teeth, Fig. 10.
