Shock Absorber Replacement
Shock Absorber Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Use a utility stand in order to slightly compress the coil spring and relieve tension on the shock absorber.
3. If the vehicle is equipped with automatic level control, disconnect the air tube connector from the shock absorber.
4. Remove the shock absorber upper bolt (1) and nut (2).
5. Remove the shock absorber lower nut (3).
6. Remove the shock absorber.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the shock absorber.
2. Notice:
Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Install the shock absorber upper bolt (1) and the shock absorber nuts (2 and 3).
Tighten the shock absorber nuts (2 and 3) to 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
3. If the vehicle is equipped with automatic level control, install the air tube connector to the shock absorber.
4. Remove the utility stand.
5. Lower the vehicle.
