ECC Programmer Linkage
1. Remove right-side sound insulator and glove box.
A. Remove five screws and two wing nuts retaining sound insulator.
B. Remove courtesy lamp from sound insulator and insulator from vehicle.
2. Set the ECC temperature control to 32°C (90°F). Allow one to two minutes for the programmer arm to travel to its maximum heat position.
3. Unsnap threaded rod from the plastic retainer on the programmer output arm.
4. Check the air-mix valve for free travel (push the valve to maximum A/C position and check for binding).
5. Pre-load air-mix valve in the maximum heat position by pulling the threaded rod to ensure that the valve is sealing. The programmer arm
should be in the maximum heat position.
6. Snap the threaded rod into the plastic retainer on the programmer arm. Do this carefully to avoid influencing the programmer arm of
air-mix valve position.
7. Set the temperature setting on the control panel to 16°C (60°F). Verify that the programmer arm and air-mix valve travel to the maximum
A/C position.
