Catera V6-3.0L VIN R (1997)
Coolant Line/Hose: Service and Repair
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Remove the transmission. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
3. Remove the following intake pipe components:

The heater core bypass hose
-
The intake pipe hose (1)
-
The radiator outlet hose (2)
-
The support bolt (3) . The bolts (5)
4. Slide the coolant intake pipe (4) rearward under the front of the cowl in order to remove.
5. Remove the intake pipe seal (6).
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Install the intake pipe seal (6).
2. Slide the coolant intake pipe (4) under the front of the cowl and forward into the proper mounting position.
3. Install the following intake pipe components:

The coolant intake pipe bolts (5). Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

The support bolt (3). Tighten the bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).

The radiator outlet hose (2)
-
The intake pipe hose (1)
-
The heater core bypass hose
4. Install the transmission. See Transmission and Drivetrain.
5. Fill the cooling system.
