Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor: Service and Repair
Description
Removal Procedure
Notice: Numbers in text correspond to numbered components in image.
1. Disconnect the wiring harness from the MAF sensor (1).
2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the IAT sensor.
3. Loosen the hose clamps from the air intake duct on either side of the IAT sensor.
4. Remove the air intake duct with the IAT sensor.
5. Loosen the hose clamp at the bottom of the MAF sensor.
Important: Do not disassemble the MAF sensor. Remove and install as a complete unit only. If there is external deformation (e.g. deformation of grid),
replace the MAF sensor.
6. Remove the MAF sensor from the lower air intake duct. Note the installation position.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the MAF sensor (1) into the lower air intake duct. An arrow on the MAF sensor shows the proper flow direction.
2. Install the air intake duct with the IAT sensor onto the MAF sensor and the air cleaning housing.
Important: Ensure that all of the hose connections are in good condition and are correctly seated.
3. Install all of the hose clamps to the air intake ducts.
4. Connect the wiring harness to the IAT sensor.
5. Connect the wiring harness to the MAF sensor.
