SUBJECT:
ENGINE STALL WHEN ENGAGING REVERSE OR DRIVE - THM 125C
MODELS AFFECTED: 1982-1987 CIMARRONS
Some 1982-1987 Cimarrons equipped with an automatic transaxle may experience an engine stall condition when engaging reverse or drive.
This condition may be caused by sediment build up on the electromagnetic portion of the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid. This may cause the
TCC solenoid to stick in the applied position engaging the TCC at all times.
FIGURE 1 - REMOVING SOLENOID
To repair this condition install a new design TCC solenoid, P/N 8652379, refer to Figure 1, and the "Automatic Transaxle Unit Repair" section of the
appropriate year Service Information Manual.
