Front Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside

Removal Procedure

1. Place window in the full up position.
2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door   (See: Front Door Panel/Service and Repair) .
3. Pull the rear of the water deflector away from the door panel to access the outside door handle. Refer toWater Deflector Replacement - Front

Door.

4. Remove the theft shield screws (2), if equipped with theft shield.

5. Remove the theft shield push-in retainer (1) from the door handle, if equipped.
6. Disconnect the lock cylinder rod from the door latch.

7. Disconnect the outside door handle rod (1) by opening the retainer (2) at the door latch.
