Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose: Service and Repair

AIR CLEANER OUTLET DUCT REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the engine sight shield.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the air cleaner outlet duct.
3. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps.
4. Partially remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the air cleaner housing to gain access to the mass air flow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT)

sensor electrical connector.

5. Disconnect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector (1).
6. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct assembly.
7. Remove the MAF/IAT if necessary. Loosen the MAF/IAT clamp (2).
8. Remove the MAF/IAT sensor from the air cleaner outlet duct. Note the position of the MAF/IAT sensor.

NOTE:
-

Handle the MAF sensor carefully.

Do not drop the MAF sensor in order to prevent damage to the MAF sensor.

Do not damage the screen located on the air inlet end of the MAF.

Do not touch the sensing elements.

-

Do not allow solvents and lubricants to come in contact with the sensing elements.

Use a small amount of a soap based solution in order to aid in the installation.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. If previously removed, carefully install the MAF/IAT sensor to the air cleaner outlet duct. Ensure that sensor is clocked properly.
