Steering Wheel Replacement

J42578 Steering Wheel Puller Legs

Removal Procedure 

1. Caution:  Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

Disable the SIR system. Refer to Restraint System Disabling and Enabling Zone 3.

2. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. 
3. Disconnect the steering column electrical connector.

4. Remove the steering wheel retaining nut.

5. Install J42578 and J1859-A to the steering wheel.
6. Using J42578 and J1859-A, remove the steering wheel.

Installation Procedure
