Drive Belt Replacement - Power Steering and Air Conditioning
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the generator and water pump drive belt.
2. Using a 1/2 drive breaker bar or ratchet, rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise in order to release tension on the drive belt.
3. Remove the drive belt from the power steering pump pulley.
4. Slowly release the drive belt tensioner.
5. Remove the drive belt from the air conditioning (A/C) compressor pulley, idler pulley, and crankshaft balancer.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the drive belt around the crankshaft balancer, idler pulley, and A/C compressor pulley.
2. Using a 1/2 drive breaker bar or ratchet, rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise.
3. Install the drive belt to the power steering pump pulley.
4. Slowly release the drive belt tensioner.
Important: Ensure the drive belt is properly aligned and seated into the grooves of the accessory drive pulleys.
5. Install the generator and water pump drive belt.
