Impact Bar Replacement - Rear Bumper

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer toFascia Replacement - Rear Bumper   (See: Rear Bumper Cover / Fascia/Service and Repair) .

2. Remove the bolts (1, 2) that secure the impact bar (3) to the rear energy absorbers (4).
3. Remove the rear impact bar (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the rear impact bar (2) to the rear energy absorbers.

Notice:  Refer toFastener Notice   in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts (1, 3) in order to secure the impact bar to the energy absorbers.

1. Install at least one inboard bolt (1) on the right side first.
2. Install at least one inboard bolt on the left side second.
3. Install the remaining outer bolts third.

Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft) as stated.

3. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer toFascia Replacement - Rear Bumper   (See: Rear Bumper Cover / Fascia/Service and Repair) .
