I/P Clock Loses or Gains Time (Reprogram Instrument Panel Cluster using SPS Pass-Thru Programming)

Condition
Some customers may comment that the clock on the I/P loses or gains time.
Cause
This condition is due to the production software not automatically updating the time of day.
Correction
DO NOT REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER FOR A CLOCK THAT IS LOSING OR GAINING TIME.
Before programming, it is necessary to slow the baud rate in the TIS terminal. Failure to slow the baud rate could result in locking up the I/P. Contact
Techline to obtain a VCI number in order to complete the programming.
To correct this condition, using the Tech 2(R) SPS Pass-Thru function, reprogram the Instrument Panel Cluster with calibration P/N 15798425. This
calibration is available on TIS 11.35 dated November 6, 2005 or later. Follow the appropriate procedure below to reset/slow the baud rate of the TIS
terminal:

Log in to TIS on the web through Dealerworld (in Canada, GM infoNET).
Enter Service Programming System.
Click on the "Start SPS" button.
On the screen in order to select "Tech2 Legacy Pass-Thru" or "Tech2 Remote", click on the "settings" button in the lower left corner.
Click on the "Diagnostics" tab.
Change the Baud Rate to 57600.
Click OK.
Contact Techline to get a VCI number.
Proceed with SPS Pass-Thru programming to reprogram the I/P.
The I/P Module may not be listed in the modules to choose from. If this happens, select any one of the module listed in order to proceed to the next
screen. On the next screen, choose "VCI Number" to proceed to the screen that will allow the VCI number to be entered.
After programming is complete, go back into the settings to change the Baud Rate back to TIS200.
