Service Procedure

1. Remove the front side (driver and passenger) door latches. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement in SI.
2. Remove the latch from the door but do NOT remove the yellow clip or latch cable.

Note
To ensure a good bonding surface is achieved, remove all of the grease from the latch cover-to-housing seam.

3. With the latch hanging from the clip and cable, remove grease from the latch cover-to-housing seam (3) using a paper towel.

Note
Do NOT cut more than a 25.4 mm (1 in) x 127 mm (5 in) strip of mastic material from the 254 mm (10 in) x 127 mm (5 in) piece of mastic
material. Two strips of mastic material (one for each latch) are required to complete the repair. One 254 mm (10 in) x 127 mm (5 in) piece of
mastic material will repair five (5) vehicles.

4. Cut a 25.4 mm (1 in) x 127 mm (5 in) strip of mastic material (1) from the 254 mm (10 in) x 127 mm (5 in) piece mastic material (2).
