3.6L LLT Engine - MIL/SES Light Illuminated, DTCs P2601 or P2610 Stored (Reprogram ECM)
Models:
2008 Cadillac CTS, STS
with 3.6L VVT Direct Injection V6 Engine (VIN V - RPO LLT)
Condition
Some customers may comment that the MIL/SES light is illuminated.
Upon further investigation, technicians may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) (DTCs) stored:
P2601: Auxiliary Coolant Pump Performance
P2610: Control Module Ignition Off Timer Performance
Cause
Engineering has identified a concern with the ECM software that may cause this condition.
Correction
DO NOT replace the ECM for this condition.
If DTC P2601 has set and routine diagnosis using SI does not reveal any obvious cause, reprogram the ECM using the latest calibration.
If DTC P2610 has set, reprogram the ECM with the latest calibration.
An updated ECM calibration is now available to address this concern. This calibration, or any that follow, is designed to address the concern.
Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) using the appropriate Service Information (SI) procedures. Do not attempt to order the calibration number
from GMSPO. The calibration numbers required for this service procedure are programmed into control modules via a Techline Tech 2(R) scan tool and
the Techline Information System (TIS) 2000 terminal with the calibration update.
Use data version 8.5 for 2007 or later, available on TIS2 Web 08/19/07; and on TIS DVD version 9.0/ 2007 or later, mailed to dealers beginning
09/12/07. As always, make sure your Tech 2(R) is updated with the latest software version. If you cannot access the calibration, call the Techline
Customer Support Center.
