Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement
Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement (V8)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Front (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake
Manifold/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (See: Filters/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair).
3. Remove the air cleaner resonator outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Resonator Outlet Duct Replacement (See: Filters/Air Cleaner Housing/Air
Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose/Service and Repair).
4. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
5. Siphon the fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir.
6. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement (V6) (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Power

7. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose bolt (3) from the generator.
8. Loosen the fitting (1) and remove the gear inlet hose (2) from the power steering pump.
9. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
10. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (See: Body and Frame/Spoilers, Flaps, and Air Dams/Air Dam/Service
and Repair/Front Air Deflector Replacement).
11. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield if necessary. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
