Parking Brake Cable Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Block the rear drive wheels.
2. Release the electronic park brake cable tension, if equipped. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (Electric Park Brake) (See:
Procedures/Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (Electric Park Brake)).
3. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
5. Lower, but do not disconnect, the exhaust system enough to gain access to the electronic park brake module assembly. Refer to Exhaust System
Insulator, Hanger, Bracket Replacement (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System/Exhaust Pipe/Muffler Hanger/Service and
Repair/Exhaust System Insulator, Hanger, Bracket Replacement).
6. Disconnect the park brake cable (1) from the electronic park brake module by rotating the cable nut counterclockwise.
Position the park brake cable nut rearward.
7. Release the park brake cable fitting from the electronic park brake module spindle.
