Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Replacement

J 29184 Oil Seal Installer
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the A/C compressor and power steering pump drive belt. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt
Replacement (See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Air Conditioning Compressor and Power
Steering Pump Belt Replacement).
2. Remove the generator and water pump drive belt. Refer to Water Pump and Generator Belt Replacement (See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and
Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Water Pump and Generator Belt Replacement).
3. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/9. Crankshaft Balancer Removal).
4. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the crankshaft oil seal.
