Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Service and Repair
Transmission Replacement
Transmission Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive)
Note: NEW cooler pipe O-rings and torque converter bolts will be required each time the transmission is removed and installed.
Removal Procedure
1. If equipped with 3.6L engine, Remove the thermostat housing. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Replacement.
2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (LSA) (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System/Service and

3. Remove the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LLT) (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust

4. Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LSA) (See: Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and

5. Disconnect the shift linkage from the transmission.
