GARAGE DOOR OPENER BENCH TEST

If a customer comments his optional garage door opener is inoperative, use of the following bench test procedure is recommended.

1.

Verify that receiver and transmitter are both coded the same.

2.

Plug receiver into 110V AC outlet.

3.

Install a known good 9V battery into the hand-held power pack. Insert transmitter module into the case.

4.

Verify battery voltage and connection integrity by depressing transmitter button. LED (red light,) on transmitter should glow.

5.

Connect ohmmeter or continuity tester leads to "left" terminals on receiver. An open circuit, infinite resistance, should be indicated. Move
transmitter switch to "left" position and depress transmit button. Red light on transmitter should light while button is depressed and meter should
indicate a closed circuit, an ohmmeter should read 5 ohms or less. An audible click should be heard from the receiver when the button is pushed.
Upon releasing the button, the needle should return to open circuit and another click heard from the receiver.

6.

If step 5 indicates the unit is operating properly, repeat the operation for the "center" and "right" channels.

7.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 with transmitter installed in map light receptacle in vehicle.

If the unit if found to be inoperative in step 5, return the transmitter and receiver to:
