Fuel Level Sensor Replacement
Fuel Sender Assembly
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR REPLACEMENT
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel System Pressure Relief Procedure. See: Service and Repair
2. Drain fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining. See: Fuel Tank/Service and Repair
3. Fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement. See: Fuel Tank/Service and Repair
4. Modular fuel sender assembly. Refer to Modular Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement. See:
5. External strainer.

Use a screwdriver to carefully pry the strainer ferrule off the reservoir. Note strainer position for later reinstallation. Discard the strainer.
6. Rubber pad (bumper). Discard.
7. Connector Position Assurance (CPA) from under the cover. Disconnect the under cover wire harness from the cover, and the fuel pump, noting
positions for installation.
8. Support the reservoir with one hand and remove the fuel level sensor assembly.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Fuel level sensor assembly.
2. Rubber pad (bumper).
3. External strainer (as noted during disassembly).
4. Under cover wire harness (as noted during disassembly).
5. Modular fuel sender assembly. Refer to Modular Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement.
6. Fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement.
7. Fuel sender electrical connector.
8. Lower vehicle.
9. Refill fuel tank.
INSPECT
Turn ignition switch to 'ON' position for two seconds, then turn to 'OFF' for ten seconds. Again turn to 'ON' position, and check for fuel leaks.
