Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair

Fig.17 Exploded View Of Lower Controls Assembly

REPLACE

Refer to Fig. 17 when servicing shift solenoid assemblies.

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove bottom pan and gasket, scavenger screens and seals.
2. Remove lower controls assembly.
3. Remove transaxle pressure switch manifold bolts, then transaxle pressure switch manifold.
4. Remove lower control valve assembly and gasket from lower channel plate.
5. Remove solenoids A and B retaining clips, then solenoids.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Add transaxle fluid as outlined.
b. Reset transaxle oil life indicator, if a complete fluid change was necessary.
