MPG AVG (analog)
The MPG AVG message is the miles per gallons (MPG) or liters per 100 kilometers (L/100 km) obtained since the last parameter reset.
The IPC calculates the average fuel economy parameter as follows: Average Fuel Economy (trip distance) / (trip fuel used) x scale factor.
In order to reset the parameter, complete the following steps:
1. Press the INFO (analog) button until the MPG AVG message displays
2. Press the INFO RESET (analog) button. The data the IPC uses in order to calculate the average fuel economy is lost if a battery disconnect occurs.
The message contains dashes if the IPC is unable to communicate with the PCM through the class 2 serial data line.
