Oil Change Reminder Lamp: Service and Repair
The engine oil life index can be reset with a scan tool or with the reset function of the DIC. The DIC can reset engine oil life only to 100 percent. A scan
tool can reset engine oil life in 10 percent increments.
ENGINE OIL LIFE MONITOR RESET
After changing engine oil, use the following procedure to reset the engine oil life monitor:
1. Turn the ignition to RUN, but do not start the engine.
2. Press the TRIP button on the Driver Information Center (DIC) switch to view various menu choices and stop on OIL LIFE REMAINING.
3. Press and hold the RESET button on the DIC switch for more than 5 seconds. The oil life will change to 100%. The engine oil life monitor is now
reset.
4. Turn the ignition OFF.
