Lateral Accelerometer: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the rear drivers side passenger seat.
3. Remove the two Lateral Accelerometer mounting nuts.
4. Disconnect the Lateral Accelerometer connector.
5. Remove the Lateral Accelerometer from the mounting studs.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the Lateral Accelerometer Sensor onto the mounting studs. 

NOTICE: Refer to Service Precautions.

2. Install the two Lateral Accelerometer nuts.

Tighten the two Lateral Accelerometer nuts to 2.4 Nm (1.8 ft. lbs.). 

3. Install the Lateral Accelerometer electrical connector.
4. Install the rear drivers side passenger seat.
5. Perform the Diagnostic System Check.
