Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Battery wire and coil connections from distributor cap.
2. Two ignition coil cover attaching screws and cover.
3. Four ignition coil attaching screws.
4. Remove ignition coil attaching screws and lift coil with leads from cap inspect cap for signs of carbon tracking on inside of cap below coil.
5. Remove ignition coil arc seal.
6. Clean with soft cloth and inspect cap for defects. replace if needed.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Ignition coil to cap.
2. Four ignition coil attaching screws.
3. Ignition coil cover and two attaching screws.
4. Battery wire and coil connection to cap.
