Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

1. Release tension from accessory drive belt, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove right front wheel, then the splash shields from wheelwell.
3. Remove brace between engine oil pan and transmission case, then install flywheel holder No. J 39411 or equivalent.
4. Remove balancer bolt, then support engine cradle with suitable jack screw and remove 3 engine cradle bolts at right side of cradle.
5. Disconnect RSS sensor from righthand lower control arm, then lower engine cradle to obtain clearance below body rail for balancer puller.
6. Install pilot No. J 39344-2 into end of crankshaft.
7. Using puller No. J 38416 or equivalent, remove crankshaft damper.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
