Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Raise the vehicle.

IMPORTANT: Mark the hoses to install on the canister (1).

2. Remove the hoses from the canister (3).  Refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction / Fuel Line Coupler / Service and Repair for Quick Connect

Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar) procedures.

3. Remove the EVAP vent valve (2) quick connect fitting at the canister. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar).

4. Remove the canister bolt.

5. Remove the canister from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the canister (1) on the bracket.

2. Install the canister bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb. in ).

3. Install the EVAP hoses (3) on the canister. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar).

4. Install the EVAP vent valve (2) quick connect fitting at the canister. Refer to Quick Connect Fitting(s) Service (Plastic Collar).

5. Lower the vehicle.
