Power Seat Motor Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Front Seat Recliner Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution:  Refer to SIR Caution.

1. Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement  (See: Service and Repair/Bucket Seat Replacement) .
2. Remove the seat back trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement  (See: Seat Back/Service and Repair/Front Seat Back Trim

Replacement) .

3. Remove the push pin retainer (1) from the edge of the lower seat belt retractor trim cover (2).
4. Release the rear of the lower seat belt retractor trim cover (2), and remove the trim cover (2).

5. Remove the retainer clip from the recliner motor end of the recliner shaft.

6. Slide the recliner shaft out of the recliner motor sensor at the outboard side far enough to clear the sensor.
7. Disconnect the recliner sensor electrical connector from beneath the seat .
8. Release the recliner sensor from the recliner motor.

Installation Procedure

1. Snap the recliner sensor to the recliner motor.

2. Slide the recliner shaft back through the recliner sensor and the recliner motor.
