DeVille DHS V8-4.6L VIN Y (2000)
1.
Carefully cut and remove only as many seat trim cover retaining hog rings as necessary that will allow the front/rear seat back/seat cushion trim
cover to be folded back (1).
Refer to the appropriate seat trim cover removal procedure in the Seats sub-section of the Service Manual.
2.
If installing a front/rear seat back or a DeVille front/rear seat cushion heat element (heater):
2.1.
Remove the non-functioning heat element wiring harness from the trim cover.
2.2.
Use a pair of diagonal side cutters to cut the wires as close to the trim cover as possible (2).
2.3.
Remove the backing paper from the back of the new heat element.
2.4.
On vehicles with Adaptive Seat Control (RPO AC9), carefully position and press the new heat element over the existing heat element on the
trim cover.
2.5.
On vehicles without Adaptive Seat Control (RPO AC9), carefully position and press the new heat element (3) onto the seat back/cushion
foam pad.
2.6.
Ensure the new heat element is laying flat.
3.
If installing a front/rear seat cushion heat element(s) (heater) on DTS & DHS models:
3.1.
Disconnect the 2 green 2-way connectors (4) and remove ONLY the non-functioning heat element(s) wiring harness from the trim cover.
3.2.
Use a pair of diagonal side cutters to cut ONLY the wires (6) of the non-functioning heat element(s) as close to the trim cover as possible.
3.3.
Remove the backing paper from the back of the new heat element(s).
3.4.
On vehicles with Adaptive Seat Control (RPO AC9), carefully position and press the new heat element(s) over the existing heat element(s)
on the trim cover.
3.5.
On vehicles without Adaptive Seat Control (RPO AC9), carefully position and press the new heat element(s) (5) onto the seat cushion foam
pad.
3.6.
Ensure the new heat element is laying flat.
