Engine Coolant Temperature Chime
The IPC receives engine coolant temperature information from the powertrain Control Module (PCM) via class 2 serial data messages. When the engine
coolant temperature is greater than 128°C (262°F), the IPC sends a class 2 serial data message requesting the radio to activate a medium rate 5 pulse
chime. The IPC also illuminates the engine coolant temperature indicator and displays the ENGINE COOLANT HOT/IDLE ENGINE message on the
DIC.
