Body Control Module: Procedures
Body Control Module Programming/RPO Configuration (DIM)
IMPORTANT: The air bag indicator light may remain ON after the DIM module is replaced, and during the programming procedure for the DIM, until
after the procedure is completed and the ignition key is cycled OFF and ON.

Before replacement, record the personalization settings to transfer to the new module (if they are available)
^
After replacement of the DIM, perform the following procedure.
^
In order to reprogram the DIM, perform the following procedure
1. Using a scan tool, perform the New VIN Procedure.
2. Perform the Setup SDM Serial Number in DIM Procedure
3. Using the scan tool, set the Point of Sale in the DIM module to the correct country.
4. Using the scan tool, configure the RPO option configuration.
5. Perform the vehicle personalization in order to reset the owner's desired personalization settings. Refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
Procedure to Set Up A New DIM Module
1. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Under the DIM Main Menu, select Special Functions. Under the Special Functions menu, one of the choices is New VIN.
4. The user selects one of the following options:

New VIN, (to continue with the procedure)
^
Exit, in order to go back to Special Functions menu
5. After the user chooses New VIN, follow the scan tool on screen instructions in order to edit the VIN:
^
Press Save, in order to save the VIM information.
^
Press Done, in order to go back to the Special Functions menu.
6. Under the Special Functions menu, one of the choices is Setup SDM Serial Number in DIM.
7. The user selects one of the following options:

Setup SDM Serial Number in DIM, (to continue with the procedure)
^
Exit, in order to go back to Special Functions menu
8. After the user chooses Setup SDM Serial Number in DIM, the scan tool displays a screen in the following manner:

Do you want to set up a Dash Integration Module?
^
Press Yes, in order to set up the module. If the user selects Yes, the scan tool displays Initializing New Module.

Press No, in order to Exit.
If the user selects No, the scan tool display returns to the DIM Special Function Menu.
9. Once the set up is complete, the scan tool displays Module Initialized.
10. In order to complete the procedure, select EXIT: Go to Special Functions Menu.
11. Under the Special Functions menu, one of the choices is Set Options.
12. The user selects one of the following options:

Set Options, (to continue with the procedure)
^
Exit, in order to go back to the Special Functions menu
13. Under the Set Options menu, The user selects one of the following options:
^
Point of Sale, (to continue with the procedure) follow the scan tool on screen instructions to Select the Point of Sale.
^
Miscellaneous Options #1, (to continue with the procedure) follow the scan tool on screen instructions to Select the RPO option configuration.
^
Miscellaneous Options #2, should be turned ON.
^
Personalization Option, (to continue with the procedure) follow the scan tool on screen instructions to Select the RPO option configuration.
^
Exit, to go back to Special Functions menu.
14. Perform the vehicle personalization in order to reset the owner's desired personalization settings.
15. Cycle the ignition key OFF and ON.

Refer to Instrument Panel Module Recalibration Procedure in Heating and Air Conditioning.
Body Control Module Programming/RPO Configuration (RIM)
Before replacing the RIM, record the personalization settings to transfer to the new module (if they are available).
After replacement of the RIM, perform the following procedure:
1. Recalibration of the automatic level control
2. Perform the vehicle personalization in order to reset the owner's desired personalization settings.
Procedure to Set Up A New RIM Module
1. Connect a scan tool to the data link connector (DLC).
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Under the Body Main Menu, select Rear Integration Module.
