Front Seat Side Impact Inflator Module Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION:  Refer to inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.
2. Disconnect the side air bag yellow electrical connector.
3. Move the seat to the full forward position.
4. Remove the seat back panel (2) from seat (1).
5. Removal of seat back panel (2) will expose the fasteners that attach side air bag to seat (1).

IMPORTANT:  Do not remove the center fastener from side impact module inflator. If center fastener is removed this could cause the side air bag to
deploy improperly, or unnecessary air bag system repairs.

6. Remove top and bottom fasteners (1) only from inflatable restraint side impact inflator module.
