DeVille DHS V8-4.6L VIN Y (2000)
1. Install new rear side inflator module (5) to body panel (1).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
IMPORTANT: When reinstalling or replacing rear side inflator module (rear air bag) apply thread locking compound GM P/N 12345493 or
equivalent to the threads of the studs.
2. Install the rear side inflator module mounting fasteners (4).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 9N.m (80 lb in.)
3. Connect the rear side inflator module wiring harness (3) to vehicle wiring harness (2).
4. Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) to rear side air bag connector (2,3).
5. Install rear side air bag connector assembly retaining clip back in place.
6. install the rear seat back.
7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System.
