Child Seat Tether Attachment: Service and Repair

CHILD RESTRAINT TETHER ANCHOR

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the rear shelf panel.
2. Remove the rear shelf panel reinforcement.
3. Remove the fastener (2) that retains the child tether anchor (1) that is being serviced.
4. Remove the child tether anchor (1) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT:  During installation ensure that the child tether anchors are installed with the anti-rotation tabs firmly seated in the anti-rotation tab
holes on the cross car beam. The anti-rotation tabs face forward on the outboard anchors. The center child tether anchor (1) and the anti-rotation tabs
face the rear of the vehicle.

1. Install the child tether anchor (1) to the cross car beam.
2. Install the child tether anchor fastener (2).

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the fastener to 30 N.m (22 lb ft)

3. Install the rear shelf panel carrier.
4. Install the rear shelf trim panel.
