Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair

Disassemble
Disassembly Procedure
Important: When removing the upper and lower shrouds, you do not have to remove the wire harness straps for the turn signal and multifunction
switch assembly procedure.
1. Remove the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Power Tilt/Telescope-Column Shift) or
Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Power Tilt and Telescope, Floor Shift) or Steering Column Trim Covers -
Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Manual Tilt, Floor Shift) or Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Manual Tilt, Column Shift).
2. Disconnect the connector(s) from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (3).
3. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (1) and (2) from the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (3).
4. Remove the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (3) from the steering column.
Assemble
Assembly Procedure
1. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (3) onto the steering column.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the lower pan head tapping screw (2) first.
Tighten the lower pan head tapping screw to 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.).
3. Install the top pan head tapping screw (1) last.
Tighten the top pan head tapping screw to 2.5 Nm (22 inch lbs.).
4. Connect the connector(s) to the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (3).
5. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Power Tilt/Telescope-Column Shift) or
Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Power Tilt and Telescope, Floor Shift) or Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble -
Off Vehicle (Manual Tilt, Floor Shift) or Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Manual Tilt, Column Shift).
