Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Front (FE1, FE3)

FRONT WHEEL BEARING/HUB

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J28733-B Front Hub Spindle Remover

1. Raise the vehicle and support by the frame allowing the control arms to hang free. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.

3. Remove the wheel drive shaft nut.

Insert a large flat bladed tool (1) into the caliper and rotor to prevent the rotor from turning.

4. Remove the caliper bolts and support caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement - Front (Without J55) or Brake Caliper Replacement - Front

(J55) in Brakes and Traction Control.

5. Remove the rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - Front (Without J55) or Brake Rotor Replacement - Front (J55) in Brakes and Traction

Control.

6. Disconnect the front wheel speed sensor connector and unclip from the dust shield.
7. Remove the hub and bearing retaining bolts and dust shield.
