Impact Bar Replacement - Front Bumper

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle   in General Information.
3. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper  (See: Front Bumper Cover / Fascia/Service and Repair/Fascia

Replacement - Front Bumper) .

4. Remove the fasteners (2) that secure the front bumper impact bar (1) to the front bumper impact bar brackets.
5. Remove the front bumper impact bar (1) from the vehicle.

6. Remove the radiator in order to gain access to the front bumper impact bar bracket retaining nut (1). Refer to Radiator Replacement   in Engine

Cooling.

7. Remove the nut (1) securing the rear of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) to the vehicle.
8. Remove the nuts (2) securing the front of the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) to the vehicle.
9. Remove the front bumper impact bar bracket (3) from the vehicle.

Important:  It is only necessary to perform steps 10 and 11 if the stud plate is damaged.

10. Remove the stud plate retainer (2) from the stud plate (1).
11. Remove the stud plate (1) from the vehicle.
